Marc Varsano from New York recently returned from a Sephardic heritage tour of the Balkan region of Europe. Marc share this photo which list the Synagogues of Salonica (or Thessaloniki) before 1941. The circled name says Varsano Synagogue and it existed prior to 1941. The synagogues on this listing plaque were presumable forced to close or destroyed during the Holocaust. If anyone else has any information about the Varsano Synagogue of Thessaloniki, then please share it with us.
